South Dakota Biotech will hold a networking event April 30 at Zeal Center for Entrepreneurship, aimed at industry members and anyone wanting to connect with the biotech community.
The two-hour mixer will start at 5 p.m. at Zeal, 2329 N. Career Ave.
“We like to periodically offer a chance for our members and others who have interest in what’s happening in biotechnology to get together and reconnect,” said Joni Johnson, executive director of South Dakota Biotech. “The collaboration and information-sharing that occurs at these events has led to valuable business opportunities many times, and we’re sure that will be the case again.”
Attendees will be able to meet the newly appointed South Dakota Biotech board of directors, representing the association’s growing membership of biotech companies and the organizations that serve them.
Officers include president Kevin Kephart, Indigo Ag Inc.; vice president Sue Lancaster, South Dakota Innovation Partners; treasurer Rollie Nevins, RTI LLC; and secretary Steve Lewis, Poet.
Penny Sattgast, owner of PCS Biotech Services LLC, joined the board, replacing Paul Batcheller of PrairieGold Venture Partners.

“We’re fortunate to have such broad expertise and big thinking on our board of directors,” Johnson said. “It’s certainly reflective of the outstanding growth we continue to see in biotechnology in our state.”
