Job Title: Science Technician III
Reports To: Scientific Services Manager
Summary of Duties:
The Science Technician III performs and is responsible for analytical testing and instrumentation for various analytes pertaining to the biofuels industry. Testing is performed following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and current Good Laboratory Practices (cGLPs) that are derived from internal methods, ASTM, AOAC, or other methodologies. Team member will promote a positive, adaptive, pleasant attitude with all team members, while being able to diversify their knowledge base. Attention to detail and pride in work results of self and team are a must.
Must be willing to learn, understand, and perform analytical testing of incoming samples following SOPs and cGLPs.
Must be willing to learn, understand and perform testing, QA/QC, and basic maintenance on analytical equipment and instrumentation.
Candidates must have the ability to self-manage and work independently on both routine and non-routine testing SOPs
Position uses basic laboratory equipment as well as chromatography, titration, and combustion instrumentation.
Position will aid and provide guidance to other Science Technicians as necessary to insure smooth flow and operation of the analytical testing laboratories.
This is a hands-on bench chemistry laboratory position with additional data and maintenance responsibilities.
Highly organized and motivated fast learner with the ability to multi-task and adapt to constant change and meet timelines as assigned.
Complete weekly inventory and communicate needs to Purchasing.
Must perform work in a professional, technical, and detailed manner.
Communicate well both written and orally across all levels.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Follow laboratory safety procedures.
Assist in R&D and method development activities as required or assigned.
Proficient in Microsoft office suite.
Cross trained in the other branches of the company and the opportunity to advance exists and is encouraged.

Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related science field of study required.
