DAKOTA SEEDS: Addressing South Dakota's Workforce Needs

Internships are a great way to help fill your temporary workforce needs and establish a pipeline for permanent employees. Internships also enhance a student's education by providing work experience in their chosen career pathway.

Dakota Seeds is an innovative internship program that connects students with employers as a way to help fill temporary workforce needs and establish a pipeline for future permanent employment. Qualifying businesses can receive matching funds up to $2,000 per intern for internships in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields, as well as in manufacturing and accounting. Dakota BioWorx Bioprocess Engineer

Bioprocess Engineer

Location: Dakota BioWorx, Brookings, South Dakota

Bioprocess engineers provide engineering/design support for clients who utilize the Dakota BioWorx space and resources across several phases of scale-up development. They should demonstrate expertise in adapting client IP from lab-scale processes to pilot-scale and larger.

Bioprocess engineers will interact directly with clients, cultivate knowledge and familiarity with client processes/IPs, and apply that knowledge to the operation of bioreactors and downstream processing equipment at the Dakota BioWorx scale-up facility.

Dakota BioWorx Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technician

Location: Dakota BioWorx, Brookings, South Dakota

Maintenance Technicians (MT)at Dakota BioWorx (DBX) are responsible for the safe and efficient operations, preventative maintenance, repair and cleaning of all equipment associated with bioprocessing.

Maintenance Technicians should be familiar and experienced with manual and automatic control systems, be vigilant of hazards associated with the equipment operations. MT are required to participate in the development and compliance to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).  MT may be required to training other team members in equipment operations. MT may need to meet call-in requirements as needed.
