Dakota Seeds is an innovative internship program that connects students with employers as a way to help fill temporary workforce needs and establish a pipeline for future permanent employment. Qualifying businesses can receive matching funds up to $2,000 per intern for internships in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fields, as well as in manufacturing and accounting. Hourly wage will depend on experience and education
The lab technician will perform standardized qualitative and quantitative tests to determine physical and/or chemical properties of various meat products. 
Some of the lab technician duties include but are not limited to:
Examining chemical, microbiological, and pathogenic samples to identify the presence of microbes and pathogens and any deviations from chemical limits
Recording and compiling test results with the ability to prepare graphs, charts, and reports for analysis by management team members.
Conducting standardized tests on meat, additives, preservatives and environmental samples to ensure compliance with standards and regulations

Test quality of materials or finished products

Maintain records of testing results or other documents as required by USDA and HACCP regulations
Monitor and control temperature of samples received into the lab
Compute fat, moisture, protein, salt and calcium content, percentages of ingredients, formulas or other product factors using equipment (FOSS), mathematical and chemical procedures
Perform regular maintenance of laboratory equipment by inspecting, calibrating, cleaning and/or sterilizing
Cleaning up after yourself and sanitizing all surfaces
Analyze test results to classify products or compare results with standard tables
Provide training to newly hired laboratory personnel, when applicable
Prepare and incubate Petri film plates with bacterial cultures

Prepare microbiological, pathogenic, and chemical samples for testing and analysis

Mix and blend ingredients to make reagents and enrichment media

Prepare compounds or solutions for products or testingOrder/keep track of supplies needed to maintain inventories in the laboratory

Job Title:         Accounting Manager
Reports To:     Controller 

Principle Responsibilities:
Preparation of reports which summarize and forecast company business activity in areas of fixed assets, A/R and A/P, based on past, present, and expected operations, for both internal and external users.
Maintain internal accounting procedures and controls necessary for the protection of company assets that fall within area of responsibility.
Direct oversight of company disbursements in accordance with policies and procedures.
Direct oversight of fixed asset inventory and accounting including monthly/yearly depreciation calculations and reconciliations.
Preparation of financial information to assist outside accountants in completing tax and other regulatory returns and to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and statutes.
Supervision of employees performing accounting, collections, and disbursement duties.  Monitor and evaluate the performance of staff; recommend and implement personnel actions.
Month/Year end close for A/R, A/P and Fixed Assets ensuring all invoices/PO’s are received and posted.
All Sales Tax issues including monthly reporting and payment to the state. 
Technical Skills:
Accounting software experience; SAP experience is advantageous.
Fixed asset software experience.
Microsoft Excel, Word
GAAP awareness.
Mathematics, critical thinking, time management, decision making, and communication (written and spoken) skills. 
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in a financial field of expertise desired but not required.
Knowledgeable with laws and regulations governing depreciation, credit, lien laws, and collections.
3-5 years experience with supervisory responsibilities in 2-3 of those years.
Food manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
