SAB Biotherapeutics - Downstream Purification Associate
The Downstream Purification Associate (DPA) is responsible for performing protein purification processes which include bench and cGMP scale to produce sterile therapeutic antibodies for human use. Reporting to the Purification Manager, the DPA will execute these tasks within a matrixed team environment and support general day-to-day laboratory operations and maintenance of equipment in all Process Development and Manufacturing (PDM) department facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS & APPLICATION
Part-time microbiologist to ID cleanroom organisms.
8:30-2:30 approximately; Days could be flexible.
Must have Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology at minimum.

JOB SUMMARY: Alumend is an early stage drug discovery and development company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Avera McKennan. Our mission is to set the standard of care with new clinical therapies based on the research and development of novel chemistries in a multidisciplinary environment. The products we currently have developed and have in clinical trials have been licensed out to other companies who will take the product through the regulatory process as a pathway to development. This allows us to further develop our current platform technology to produce additional products and to develop new technology platforms under a quality system. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment preparing products for licensure and regulatory approval. Duties will include: conduct laboratory-based scientific research including the synthesis, purification, and characterization of novel drug compounds; study the mechanism of action of these compounds; operate standard laboratory equipment such as a balance, pH meter, as well as more specialized equipment such as HPLC, FTIR, UV-Vis, LC-MS, Laser systems; general laboratory maintenance such as ordering supplies, cleaning glassware, and routine equipment calibration and maintenance.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university in chemistry or a related major required.
- Master's degree preferred.
- 1-3 years' relevant research experience preferred
