NIH Needs Assessment Program and Opportunities Alert

The Needs Assessment Program for National Institutes of Health (NIH) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Awardees is for NIH SBIR and STTR Phase I awardees and Phase I Fast-Track awardees and it is intended to help small businesses identify and address their most pressing product development needs.
The program provides a third party, unbiased assessment to help SBIR/STTR awardees
in the following critical areas:
  • Market Needs/Competitive Advantage
  •  Intellectual Property/Barriers to Entry
  • Business Model Profitability
  • Manufacturing, Regulatory and/or Clinical Plan
The program supports companies developing all types of technologies — clinical products such as devices, drugs, biologics, and therapeutics, as well as software, educational and multi-media behavioral science products.
The time commitment for participating companies is minimal and participation is free.
