S.D. Biotech Summit to highlight state’s innovation pathways

“We’re excited for an agenda filled with content that directly applies to advancing the biotech industry in our state,” said Joni Ekstrum, executive director of South Dakota Biotech.
The South Dakota Biotech Summit begins with an evening fireside chat from 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Oct. 27 featuring Robert Fouberg, chairman and CEO of Dacotah Bank, who will speak on innovating legacy.
From there, participants will engage in critical conversations around the future of biotech in South Dakota, highlighting areas such as strategic goals, and private sector and academic collaboration.
On Oct. 28, the day will run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and feature a mix of speakers and open discussion.
Topics will include Innovation in the Heartland, Healthcare in Rural Communities and Driving Change Together.
“In addition to hearing from local leaders and experts, we’ll be asking participants to weigh in on topics such as policy needed for growth, preparing our workforce and even shifting our mindset,” Ekstrum said.
“Plus, you’ll learn more about our strategic direction as an organization and how we’re positioning ourselves to help evolve biotech in our state in the years ahead.”
